Tools of the Trade

Did you know that the head of the chisels used for wood engraving are sometimes no wider than a fine knitting needle? I've added a standard sized paper clip in this photo so you can get an idea of just how small the tools are that I use to create the wood engravings.

Photo Inspiration: Birds in trees

As most artists will attest you can find inspiration from just about anywhere, but these birds caught my eye in relation to my current series of prints. This photo was taken at Wilson's Promentory National Park at dusk . The birds flew swiflty to the tree and one lost its balance and ended upside down before it corrected itself. I wasn't quick enough to photograph it but the image, The Conformists was the result.
